¿Recuerdas qué significa el verbo have?
En unidades anteriores se dijo que el verbo have se usa para hablar de las características físicas que tiene una
persona.
Por ejemplo: She has long hair
Como verbo, have expresa posesión, significa tener, y puedes
utilizarlo para hablar de tu familia.
Nota: Have también es un verbo auxiliar.
Por ejemplo, puede usar I have… para decir que tienes un primo
(forma afirmativa +), o utilizar la forma negativa (-) para indicar que no lo
tienes, I don’t have...
Nota: don't =
do not / doesn't = does not"
Ejemplos:
I have
a baby. She is beautiful.
They don’t
have a nephew, they have a niece.
She doesn’t
have a husband, she is single.
He doesn’t
have an uncle.
Se utiliza el auxiliar do/does
para realizar preguntas sobre
alguna acción, en este caso, la acción de tener un familiar.
Ejemplos:
Does she have an aunt living in Monterrey?
Do we have any uncles living in the U.S.?
Como se observa en las siguientes oraciones, cuando usamos el auxiliar do/does para realizar
preguntas es posible responder de manera corta mediante las siguientes frases:
A: Does she have an aunt living in Monterrey?
B: No, she doesn’t. / Yes, she does.
A: Do we have any uncles living in the U.S.?
B: Yes, we do. / No, we don’t.
